3 month jail for drunken driving
A 42-year-old private employee from Saidabad was imprisoned for three months by the Courts on Thursday. He was caught six times by the traffic police during enforcement drive against drunken driving since 2013. Hyderabad: A 42-year-old private employee from Saidabad was imprisoned for three months by the Courts on Thursday. He was caught six times by the traffic police during enforcement drive against drunken driving since 2013. Balaram Raju (42) who was caught by the traffic police of Mirchowk, Sultan Bazar, Bahadurpura, Malakpet, Abids and Kacheguda was produced before the Court and the magistrate convicted him to undergo imprisonment of three months along with a penalty of Rs 2,000.
In the past also Raju was imprisoned twice for a total of four days when he was caught by the police during the enforcement drives. According to the police, since January 2015, as many as 9,709 persons were caught for drunken driving and 1,319 among them were sentenced to imprisonment by the Courts.
