The check was conducted under the direct supervision of M Sarjan Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, Passenger Marketing, South Central Railway.

Senior officers from Commercial Department were also present during the check. The check was undertaken by 120 ticket checking staff, supplemented by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.

Tickets of passengers were scrutinised to detect ticketless/irregular travel. During the check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway Station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the check.

A total of 1,293 persons, comprising of 411 persons travelling without tickets, 644 persons travelling irregularly and 238 cases of unbooked luggage were detected. An amount of Rs 5,70,195 was realised towards penalty during the special check, according to a release issued here on Monday.
