Chittoor: A Maoist leader allegedly involved in several cases in Jharkhand was arrested on Monday by the Madanapalli police at the Estate Road in Chittoor district, police said. Govind Yadav, a Naxal commander active in Jharkhand, was hiding in Chittoor district for the past few months, said Chittoor SP G Srinivas.
He said Yadav was nabbed by the Madanapalle police following information provided by the Jharkhand Police. The officer, however, refused to share further details, saying the Maoist commander was wanted by the Jharkhand police and was involved in offences in that state.
