An Engineering student from Hyderabad was arrested by the SR Nagar police on Friday on the charges repeated burglaries. Rahul, resident of Madhura Nagar, was the student of final year B.Tech was habituated to lavish lifestyle.

On learning that his neighbours had always kept the house key inside the shoe stand whenever they went out, Rahul used to open the doors and commit theft.

In December last year, he stole 30 tolas gold ornaments from the house and in the last week of October this year, he again stole gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas. The police, during the examination of the scene of the offence, they noticed the suspicious movement of Rahul.

The police took the student into custody and during the interrogation, he spilled the bean, the police said. Punjagutta ACP Venkateshwarlu said during the questioning, Rahul confessed to having committed the theft. As much as 45 tolas gold was recovered.
