Hyderabad: Disappointed over the unavailability of valuables in a house to steal, burglars set ablaze sarees and furniture in the house of a techie after stealing gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas in the adjacent house.
According to Narsingi police, the thieves broke into two houses in Tulip Gardens at Puppalaguda on Sunday evening.
They first sneaked into the house of Mahesh, a private employee and stole gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas. The crooks then sneaked into his neighbour’s house Eshwar, a software engineer working in an MNC in the city.
Unhappy over not finding any valuables, the crooks set ablaze the sarees and some furniture in the house and fled.
After sometime, the locals observed thick smoke bellowing out of the locked house of Eshwar and informed the police. The Narsingi police rushed to the spot along with fire tenders and controlled the fire.
Basing on the complaints received from the victims, separate cases have been booked and the investigation is on.
