In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old engineering student who attempted to jump from one hostel building to another died when he fell from the third floor in Petbasheerabad.
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old engineering student who attempted to jump from one hostel building to another died when he fell from the third floor in Petbasheerabad.
Sai Krishna, 19, of Khammam, was in second year engineering at Narasimha Reddy Engineering College situated at Petbasheerabad. At around 4 pm on Tuesday, Sai and his friend wanted to go to the adjacent hostel building. Shile, his friend, successfully jumped over to the other building, however, Sai who followed him failed to place his foot properly on the wall and fell to the ground.
He sustained serious head injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed in the early hours of Wednesday, said Petbasheerabad Inspector D V Ranga Reddy said. The preliminary investigation revealed that it was a regular practice for the hostel students as they had to get down three floors to go the next building.
