A 30-year-old man from Avanthipuram village under Miryalaguda mandal in Nalgonda district allegedly tried to immolate himself on Thursday after he was refused leave by his employer.

Police said that Tripathi Masthan who worked at a petrol pump poured petrol over himself and set himself on fire. Apparently, Masthan had been asking his employer for leave for the past three days but the owner refused following which Masthan set himself ablaze. The Police informed that the man was admitted to district government hospital and had sustained about 90 per cent burns. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is going on.
