Hyderabad: A man was arrested by the police on Thursday for allegedly cheating a software engineer by marrying her after ‘concealing’ his first marriage and collecting Rs 37 lakh from her relatives.
Prima facie, it has been ascertained that Mohammed Ahmed Ali, a flower businessman, ‘concealed’ his previous marriage and pretended as the owner of several properties in different localities including posh Banjara Hills area to woo the woman, the police said.
“Ali has been taken into custody and is being questioned. During preliminary investigation, it has come to light that he had not given divorce to his first wife and went ahead to marry the second time,” the DCP said.
