Hyderabad: A B-Tech student was arrested by SOT (Special Operations Team) under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on the charge of drug trafficking and indulging in counterfeit currency racket. He came from Thondupally village under Shamshabad mandal.

The accused, identified as Uppery Mahesh, 26, became addicted to lavish lifestyle. When he was in real estate business, he was introduced to alleged drug offenders. They engaged him to peddle narcotic drugs, such as heroin, to clients in the city.

“The offender used to visit celebrity events, carnivals and colleges to sell drugs,” said Additional DCP SOT E Ramachandra Reddy.

On a tip-off, the SOT which had kept the accused under watch for a while arrested him. The police claimed to have seized drugs and counterfeit currency from him.
