As soon as the watchman reacted, the burglars left their tools on the spot and ran away. Iron rod cutters, hammer, drillers, some iron rods, screw drivers, chili powder and also some other tools were found at the spot

They even managed to enter the bank compound by jumping into a small space between the compound wall and the bank building. They have also made a small hole there. However, their attempt failed due to the alertness of the watchman. As soon as the watchman reacted, the burglars left their tools on the spot and ran away.

Iron rod cutters, hammer, drillers, some iron rods, screw drivers, chili powder and also some other tools were found at the spot, the police said. According to the watchman, he heard some sounds of hitting the wall and immediately rushed to check what was happening. He found a burglar covered in mask. After raisin alarm, the watchman also chased to catch one of the burglars, but in vain.

Then he informed the police. On Friday morning, Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) V B Kamalasan Reddy, Chikkadpally Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) D Narsaiah along with the clues teams and other officials, inspected the bank premises and collected evidences from the spot. Speaking to media, DCP Kamalasan Reddy said, the incident took place in the midnight on Thursday.

Burglars attempted to make a hole to the rear wall of the strong room. They appeared to be aware of the space behind the building. It is a very small gap of about one and half feet. “They made a hole of about three to four inches deep. The bank watchman heard the sounds and raised alarm. We are suspecting that more than two persons have participated in the burglary. Based on the complaint lodged by the bank officials, a case has been registered. Very soon we will identify and nab the accused,” said DCP Kamalasan Reddy.
