Most wanted gangster and ex-Maoist Nayeem was shot dead by Grey Hounds near Hyderabad, Telangana on Monday.

According to reports the gangster who's masterminded IPS officer Vyas death plot was killed near Shadnagar. He hails from Bhongir, Nalgonda district.

There are more than 20 murder cases against him. The Ex-Maoist also was the brain behind the deaths of former extremist leader Patlolla Goverdhan Reddy, Ramulu and Samba Shivudu. Mohammed Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem was a former Maoist who turned gangster. He is most wanted for several criminal offences including the death of former IPS officer Vyas. The Grey Hounds in Telangana put an end to his legacy on Monday.

On a tip off about terrorists hiding at a place in Shadnagar, the elite anti-extremist force of the Telangana police, Greyhounds, surrounded the place in the morning. It is learnt that before that, they nearby resident were evacuated to prevent any casualties.

Nayeem was later killed in an exchange of fire between his gang and the police. The police who managed to get into the house found the former Maoist lying in a pool of blood. His gang members reportedly fled the spot. A few weapons have been seized from the house.

Hailing from Bhongir, Nayeem was part of the Maoist party way back in 80s. He turned gangster after a brief jail stint. Illegal arms supply, extortions, real estate land settlements were a few things where Nayeem and his gang were involved.

According to reports, it was Nayeem who tipped police about Sohrabuddin Sheikh who was killed in an alleged encounter by Gujarat police.
