​Hyderabad: The Kushaiguda police busted an interstate attention diversion gang on the city outskirts under the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The police said the gangsters, who belonged to OG Kuppam of Chittoor district had resorted to 37 attention diversion cases from 2014 to 2016.

The criminals were identified as Petla Suresh, 24, Kunchala Gopi alias Shyam, 41, native of Rayamangalam, Villivakam, Chennai, Pasupuleti Shiva, 38, and Gokul Das alias Yesudas, 40. All the accused were residing at Bhupesh Guptha Nagar, Karmanghat, Ranga Reddy district and natives of O G Kuppam, Nagari (M), Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.

In view of a series of attention diversion cases taking place on the city outskirts, particularly under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate limits, the Kushaiguda police stepped up intensive patrolling, mobilised staff and worked round-the-clock for achieving a breakthrough.

The efforts of the police bore fruits with the apprehension of the criminals in a decoy operation after establishing their identity through CCTV footage.
