Rajamahendravaram: In a weird accident, a speeding truck lost control, overturned and toppled down from rail-cum-road bridge, on to the railway track damaging the high tension wires.According to sources, a speeding truck from Kovvuru, hit a truck carrying sand on the rail-cum-road-bridge in Rajamahendravaram at 5.30 am on Tuesday, lost control and hit parapet wall of the bridge. Then the truck overturned after hitting the wall and fell on the railway track below damaging high tension wires.

Both driver and cleaner belong to Vijjeswaram in West Godavari and were identified as Peethala Pandu and Thota Sateesh.As the high tension wires were damaged, the electric engineering section stopped electricity on first line between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada for 15 minutes and restored the power, immediately. The railway authorities of Rajamahendravaram called in a huge crane to lift the lorry from the track. In between, the train traffic was diverted to single line and all morning trains were delayed up to one hour.
