Three killed in road accident
Three persons were killed in a road accident that took place in the early hours of Saturday near Thorrur in the district. The deceased were identified as C Mallikharjun (55), L Kishtaiah (49) and Md. Anwar Pasha (45) of Bhupalpalli town.

They were returning to town after attending a marriage at Laxmipuram village of Bonkal mandal in Khammam district when the accident occurred.
According to sources, the car in which the deceased were travelling collided head on with a truck coming in the opposite direction.
Anwar Pasha, who was driving the car was said to have lost control of the vehicle and hit the lorry. As a result, the three died on the spot.
Both Kishtaiah and Anwar Pasha were working for the SCCL. The Thorrur police said the bodies were shifted to a local government hospital for post-mortem and a case was booked.
