BPO employee dies, husband held
A woman, working for Bank of America’s back end operations at Hyderabad office, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her marital home in Sudarshan Nagar area of Gachibowli police station limits on Sunday.
Hyderabad: A woman, working for Bank of America’s back end operations at Hyderabad office, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her marital home in Sudarshan Nagar area of Gachibowli police station limits on Sunday.
According to police, the woman, G Padmaja (32), was found hanging in a room in her house located in Gachibowli. She was found by her husband Girish Narasimha, who took her to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
The woman’s parents lodged a complaint with the police suspecting foul play behind her death. Based on the complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case against her husband Girish, a system administrator with a reputed IT company in the city, and his family members on charges of dowry harassment.
The woman’s parents said her marriage was performed with Girish in April 2016. A month after the marriage, Girish and his family members began harassing Padmaja for dowry and also to transfer the properties registered on her name to Girish, they said in their complaint.
Padmaja’s kin suspect that she might have been killed by her husband and in-laws or unable to bear their torture was forced to take the extreme step, police said.
Police registered a case of dowry death and took Girish into custody for questioning. Further investigation is underway.
