Arab man, 2 others held for cheating woman
A 52-yr old UAE national was arrested along with a broker and a qazi for allegedly cheating a 30-yr old woman after marrying her in the City. They were booked under sections 420, 493, 370, 370-A, 109, 511 of IPC.

According to police, the prime accused Salim Obaid Saeed Shalman AlZaabi, resident of Dubai, came to Hyderabad with the intention of fulfilling his sexual desires in the guise of marriage. He contacted Md Shafi, the broker who helped him to find 30-yr old woman in Akbar Colony of Mailardevpally. By citing marriage proposal, Salim paid the broker Rs 70,000, who in turn gave Rs 40,000 to the woman’s parents, by taking Rs 30,000, as his commission.
However, within few days after his marriage, the prime accused left for UAE. Citing Visa process, the broker and prime accused took signatures of the woman on bond papers. Md Habeeb (60), resident of Pahadishareef acted as qazi and took Rs 10,000 as commission from Salim.
The gazi allegedly aware of the fact that the woman would be cheated by the UAE national. All the three accused assured the victim’s family that the bond papers would be sent to Mumbai for processing of marriage certificate and other documents.
But the parents of the victim got suspicious after the prime accused continued dilly-dallying the processing of the documents. Realising that they were cheated, they made a complaint with the police against the UAE national.
Based on the compliant of the parents, the Mailardevpally police investigated the matter and arrested the three accused. They seized bond papers and other evidence. “The accused with the intention of enjoying with the Indian ladies, came to Hyderabad and cheated the victim and her parents, by making them believe that he married her and will take her to Dubai.
But they found that he was only trying to leave the City for Dubai by leaving behind the victim,” said Shamshabad DCP P V Padmaja
The police also arrested the younger brother of Salim, Ibrahim Obaid Sayeed Shamlan AlZaabi (48), who had also landed in City on August 22 with the intention of cheating women, like his brother.
