The Nelakondapalli police on Wednesday arrested two chain snatchers and recovered Rs 10 lakh from their possession. Speaking to media persons at the Police Headquarters, Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal said the arrested persons Desaboina Mahesh and Sheikh Jani Pasha, natives of Narayanapuram in Suryapet district, took to chain-snatchings to lead a lavish life.

The Nelakondapalli police on Wednesday arrested two chain snatchers and recovered Rs 10 lakh from their possession. Speaking to media persons at the Police Headquarters, Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal said the arrested persons Desaboina Mahesh and Sheikh Jani Pasha, natives of Narayanapuram in Suryapet district, took to chain-snatchings to lead a lavish life.

The two accused were caught by the cops during a routine vehicle check when they were found moving suspiciously near Nelakondapalli. The Commissioner said that the accused, who took to chain-snatchings some seven months ago, used to target lone women. It’s learnt that the duo had confessed that they were inspired by crime videos available online. So far, they are involved in 13 chain-snatching cases. The Commissioner lauded the Nelakondapalli and Kusumanchi sub-inspectors Suman and Raghu.
