Hyderabad: In a ghastly incident, three of a family were found murdered in a flat at Vemukunta under Chandanagar police station limits near Serilingampally on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday. The police suspect that the estranged husband of one of the victims, Aparna, might have killed her along with her daughter and her elderly mother.

The three generations of the family, Aparna, her 4-year-old daughter Karthikeya and her mother Vijayamma were residing in the flat for the past few years. However, on Monday morning, the owner of flat that was locked from outside, found foul smell emanating from the house. Suspecting something fishy, he immediately informed the police.

When the police unlocked the flat, three members of the family were found lying dead. Aparna’s body was found in the kitchen in a pool of blood, while bodies of her mother and daughter were lying in the bed. During the preliminary investigation, the police found that the family was murdered on January 27 (Saturday). As part of the investigation, a dog squad and Clues team were sent to the spot and the bodies were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. “Aparna died after she was hit with a rod on her head.

The persons who were known to Aparna might have attacked the family. We have taken up the investigation into the matter,” said DCP, Vishwa Prasad, who visited the spot. Aparna, a native of Palakollu in West Godavari district was married to Madhu, a resident of Kukatpally, about seven years ago, following a love affair.

She was working in Bajaj Electronics showroom in Chandanagar in the city. Her husband was working in a mobile shop at Kukatpally but was staying away from the family for some time. It is believed that their relationship remained strained for the past few months. Aparna and Madhu recently had quarrelled over the issue of latter’s first marriage, the fact which was known to Aparna, recently.

A case was also filed in this regard in Chandanagar police station. Meanwhile, following the breaking of the news of Madhu’s second marriage, the kin of his first wife also got upset. The police are investigating in different angles, suspecting the involvement of Madhu and the relatives of his first wife in the triple murder.

Later, during the evening, Madhu reportedly surrendered to the police. However, the police also took into custody another person as part of investigation. According to official sources, Madhu who is the prime suspect in the triple murder has confessed to the crime.

During interrogation, Madhu claimed to have been in a live-in relationship with Aparna for the past 10 years. He alleged that the Aparna was closely moving with another man and he could not tolerate it. Hence, he reportedly restored to ghastly act, the official said.
