Kakinada: District Collector and city Special Officer Neetu Kumari Prasad said that efforts were being made to complete all the on-going works on roads, parks and drains in the city within the next three months. She inspected the road widening and modernisation works on parks and drains in the city along with Municipal Commissioner Ravi Kumar and other engineering officials on the occasion of Special Officers Day on Thursday. The Collector assured that the modernisation of the Boat Club by the Municipal Corporation with Rs 50 lakh aid from Reliance Company will be completed within a month and it will be ready for use.

She directed the engineering officials to complete the works on the construction of drain at a cost of Rs 14 lakh on the road leading to the Revenue Divisional Office. Ms Neetu Prasad said that traffic junctions will be set up at Sarpavaram and Nagamalli Thota junctions and other main centres. The engineering officials told the Collector that road widening to about 65 ft will be completed by September end. Later, she inspected the modernisation works on Janmabhoomi Park and directed the officials to make it attractive for visitors.
