Kakinada (East Godavari): Lions Club Regional Chairman Srimuni Reddy said that the Lions Club has released Rs 30 lakh for those who lost everything in the Godavari floods. Speaking at the Satya function conference hall here on Wednesday, he said that the Lions Club Governor Shiva Prasad disclosed this information to him when he met him recently.

Lions Club Global Membership district coordinator Lingamallu Krishnamurthy said that membership drive would be taken up seriously as they would be better placed to take up development works with more members joining in it. He said that those who take up the membership drive would be suitably rewarded and they would be given perks and incentives worth Rs 6 lakhs.

He said that the Lions Club need not depend upon anybody to implement the service oriented or development programmes.A special bulletin was released on the occasion highlighting the programmes to be undertaken by the Club. Lions Club Zone Chairman Vithal said that he would admit 60 members, KL Narasimha Rao 40 members, Professional Club president Shabbir another 40 members.

Lingamurthi distributed awards for them when they gave a written commitment that they would undertake membership drive and reach the fixed targets. Lingamurthy said that Lions Club would organize a training session on Leadership and Personality Development and it would be undertaken by the Secretary of district Kakinada
Lions Club MVR Mohan Kumar.
