Visakhapatnam: The Andhra University (AU) and the University of the Highlands and Islands Perth College, Scotland, United Kingdom, here on Friday signed memorandum of understand to start a dual bachelor’s programme (BA) in tourism and hospitality management from 2014-2015 academic year.

The delegation led by Dawne Hodkinson, International Project Director, Ian Gibb, Subject Leader, Hospitality and Sara O.'Hagan, Subject Leader, Management, held discussions with the AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G S N Raju and decided to start the BA in tourism and hospitality management course from 2014-2015 academic year

After signing the MoU, Raju said that the course is expected to have high potential employability in view of the growing global demand for hotel and hospitality services.

Prof. E N Dhanamjaya Rao, Director, International Affairs, AU, said that the BA International course in Tourism and Hospitality Management would give impetus to the tourism industry in north coastal Andhra Pradesh. He further said that experts from tourism and hotel industry would be drawn to impart practical inputs to the course.
