Engineering admissions: Confusion continues to take over

Hyderabad: As the government officials are not able to give a clear picture, confusion continues to prevail in the engineering admissions in Telangana. The decision regarding seeking permission from the Supreme Court to extend the deadline for admissions to October from July 31 is yet to take a solid form. The government was supposed to file an appeal in the Supreme Court on Monday but officials say the exercise is still on.

Also, according to sources, the reasons for the delay in filing the appeal are to prepare an action plan if the Supreme Court rejects the Government’s argument. It is a sensitive issue as thousands of students are involved and the parents are eagerly waiting for the admission process to start. The delay will also put the Government in a negative light and the issue has to be settled fast, added sources. Clarity on the issue may be sought before Thursday, reportedly.

Already three months elapsed after the Intermediate examinations and three months more time in waiting for the admissions may surely become the patience check for the youths.
