EAMCET Row: Telangana Higher Education Council Constituted. The Telangana Government issued a GO on constituting state’s Higher Education Council.

The Telangana Government issued a GO on constituting state’s Higher Education Council. Osmania Vice Chancellor will be heading the Council, while VCs of Kaktiya and Satavahana will act as deputies. It shows the T-Government's firm stand on evading in the EAMCET counseling, announced by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

In fact, APSCHE initiated the process of counseling by announcing the dates. The counseling is scheduled on 7th of this month. But the T-Government is trying its best to stall the process by all possible means.

AP Government is pleading that; the delay in the counseling would affect the students. But Telangana Government says a petition filed by it is pending in the Supreme Court. The case is coming up for hearing on 4th of this month. So the T-Government wants to move further after the outcome of the case.

As per the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, students from both states are eligible for 20% unreserved quota in all colleges. Naturally top rankers would opt for government colleges, which are mostly located in around Hyderabad. There are almost 400 colleges in Telangana. The counseling will be incomplete without the participation from the T-Government.

More over, the counseling cannot go further without ending the fee reimbursement issue.
