Makeshift arrangements made

Visakhapatnam: The second phase of EdCET-14 counselling progressed here on the second day on Sunday, as scheduled. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G S N Raju visited the EdCET office and AU Engineering College (A) and handed over scratch cards and acknowledgement letters to candidates for the counselling.

Many students attended the web-based counselling and exercised options in the methodologies of mathematics, physical sciences, English and biological sciences.

For Mathematics, Physical Sciences, English and Biological Sciences methodology, ranks from 1 to last were called for certificate verification at 40 helpline centres (24 in Telangana, 16 in Andhra Pradesh), said EdCET convener Prof Nimmala Venkata Rao.

The candidates registered on October 18 and 19 were 1,331. The counselling for biological sciences and social studies will begin at 9 am on October 20. Details and more information is available on EdCET Website: www.edcet.apsche.ac.in or www.apedcet.org.

The VC appreciated the EdCET convener for making makeshift arrangements for the counseling in EdCET office and AU Engineering College within time.

The two official helpline centres at Government Polytechnic and B R Ambedkar auditorium of AU Engineering College were badly damaged in ‘Hudhud’ Rector Prof E A Narayana, Registrar Prof K Ramamohana Rao, Principal of AU College Engineering Prof P S Avadhani, Core Committee Members of EdCET-14 Prof K Ramji and Prof T Raghava Rao, of Ed. CET-14 and Prof. D. Appala Naidu Coordinator, Helpline centres were present.
