Hyderabad: The impasse over conducting admissions for 174 private engineering colleges has finally come to end. A notification for special counselling was released on Monday.
According to the notification, candidates from one to one lakh rank can attend certificate verification process on November 5. Engineering aspirants who secured rank of more than one lakh will have to get certificates verified on November 6. Those students whose certificates were verified can take part in the option entry from November 5 to 7. The seats would be allotted on November 9 after 6 pm.
The EAMCET convener said candidates claiming reservation under special categories CAP/NCC/PH/Sports should attend for certificate verification only at Sanketika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank. A total of 13 helpline centres have been arranged for the certificate verification in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The notification stated that candidates could collect details of web counselling procedure and other relevant information from helpline centres on the day of certificate verification and also were made available on website www.eamcet.nic.in.
The convener made it clear that candidates who had not taken admission so far in any engineering college should participate in the counselling. The convener also said candidates who had taken admission earlier but cancelled their admissions and subsequently not taken admission so far in any college were also eligible for counselling.
As per the Supreme Court directive, the candidates who have already taken admissions either in category-A or category-B are not eligible for these colleges.
According to the notification, the candidates have to carry original certificates, failing which they will not be permitted for counselling.
Candidates who have attended for certificate verification earlier, but not taken admission so far, shall have to attend once again for certificate verification with all certificates on payment of processing, the notification read.
The aspirants will be allotted in the enlisted colleges, but provisional allotment made is subject to the grant of affiliation by the respective university.
Engineering aspirants from Andhra University region and Sri Venkateshawara University region can also take part in the counselling under 15 per cent unreserved seats earmarked in the colleges along with OU local candidates.
