Hyderabad: Book lovers of twin cities will be witnessing the first book fair after the formation of the State of Telangana from December 17 to 26. This fair will be named after Vattikota Alwar Swami, the pioneering novelist of Telangana.

The fair will be held at NTR Stadium. A 10 per cent discount on all books will be offered. It will reflect the literary and cultural heritage of Telangana. “The contributions of Telangana luminaries like Kaloji Narayana Rao will be highlighted.

Writers will have an opportunity to display their works at the fair,” Juluru Gouri Shankar, president of the fair, said. Leading book publishers and sellers will be participating in the fair. The fair is expected to draw a crowd of one lakh per day, K Chandramohan, the secretary of the book fair, said. The website of the 28th Hyderabad Book Fair was inaugurated by MLC Prof K Nageshwar on Thursday.
