Warangal: Admission process to the engineering courses offered by GITAM University for the academic year 2015-16 has commenced. GITAM School of Technology dean and Principal Ch Sanjay told press persons here on Saturday the last date for applying for B. Tech, M. Tech, Pharmacy and Architecture courses is March 31. For admissions, the students have to appear for GITAM Admission Test (GAT). Based on the ranks obtained in GAT, students will be allocated seats at its campuses in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru.

Admission test is of two-hour duration with three papers of 100 marks each. It will be held on an online mode. It is scheduled to be held from April 20 to May 10. The students can choose test date and centre as per their convenience, he said. The test results will be announced on May 16. The students can apply online by visiting the website: www.gitam.edu or obtain applications from select branches of Union Bank of India (UBI), Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank (KVB).

In Warangal, the application are available at Mandi Bazar branch of Indian Bank, KVB branches at SVN Road and Hanamkonda and UBI branches at JP Road and Subedari. The cost of application is Rs 100. In Telangana State, the admission test will be held at Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad, GITAM Hyderabad campus, Saifabad and Dilsukhnagar.

100 per cent tuition fee will be waived for top 10 rankers in the first year and 50 per cent waiver given for 11 to 100 rankers, said assistant director of admissions K Siva Kumar The GITAM University, placed in ‘A’ category by NAAC, offers 123 programmes and the entire faculty members are PhD holders. The placement average is 90 per cent and companies like Amazon, IBM, TCS, Infosys, iGate and others conduct campus placements, he added. Gitam Business School director SS Prasad Rao informed that admission test for MBA will be held on January 24 at Hyderabad campus.
