Teaching faculty should dopt student-centric teaching-learning methods for the learning to be meaningful and sustainable, he advised. The Vice Chancellor underscored the need for bringing innovative changes to the existing paradigm of pedagogy so as to take the university to new heights of academic excellence. Stressing on the need to expand and provide quality education, Prof Subrahmanyam insisted that teachers encourage them towards creative thinking.

He said he hopes to see the GITAM University Science Activity Centre (GUSAC) much more vibrant. Prof Subrahmanyam hopes that the relationship between the teacher and the taught would find an ideal expression at GITAM. He expressed his commitment to provide a student-friendly environment at the university. He instructed the Heads of Department to conduct academic and energy audits and focus on sustainable water management systems on the campus.
