Hyderabad: City-based Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET) welcomed its alumni for the 20th edition of “Yugma”, the Alumni Homecoming Day. Distinguished alumni, Aditya Rao Gangasani and Abdul Mujeeb, graced the occasion as the chief guests of the Day.

Aditya Rao Gangasani, lyricist and singer and a YouTube sensation, talked about the Hyderabadi flavour in his songs and how he was inspired by the college and faculty here. He expressed his thanks to the Principal for allowing him to shoot one of his songs in the college campus. Mujeeb shared his experiences as a social entrepreneur through “Allika”, which empowers women while also eradicating water pollution by water hyacinth in various lakes. He inspired students to aspire beyond employment and gear up to become employers instead.

Principal, C D Naidu, and Director for Advancement, B Chenna Kesava Rao, spoke at the occasion and shared the institute’s progress and vision for the future and how alumni will always be a part of the VNRVJIET family.

The crescendo music club, live wire dance club, and VJ Theatre film-making club of the institute performed for the alumni and with the alumni of the respective clubs. K Ranga Sai, Asst. Prof.-EIE, shared his joy that graduating batch of B Tech. (EIE) in 2017 came in large numbers to celebrate the event together.

The event was coordinated by S Kanchana, Sr Asst. Prof. in English and Alumni coordinator, and her team and compared by H Renuka, Asst. Prof.-EIE and an alumna of the Institute. The event was attended by alumni, faculty members, and members of the Institute Management, including the various Heads of Departments and Deans.
