Exploitation of groundwater for irrigation during the Rabi season could lead to a further decline in the water levels. It could cause severe drinking water scarcity during the summer months in Medak, Rangareddy, Nizamabad, Hyderabad and Nalgonda districts.

The situation could change for the better in July 2015 if southwest monsoon advances on schedule in June.

With a water crisis looming large over Telangana State, the government has taken up a summer contingency plan to ensure drinking water to nine districts, especially where the groundwater levels have plummeted.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao sanctioned Rs 263 crore and promised to release more funds to meet the drinking water requirements of people in all districts. The GHMC takes care of drinking water needs of Hyderabad. The government also released Rs 485 crore as interest free loans to 40 lakh
DWCRA women.

Water veins run underground. When we think about the water cycle on earth, we usually think about rain, rivers, lakes, and the sea. Rivers, lakes and the sea make up the Earth’s surface water. But there is also a great deal of water underground. Rainwater seeps into the ground and continues its journey underground. If it doesn’t resurface as spring water, then it collects underground to form bodies of groundwater.

A water vein is water that flows underground between layers of rock. Water veins vary in size from mere trickles to large scale rivers. Although underground rivers cannot be detected with technical devices, their existence is widely recognized.

How is the effect of water veins created?

How the harmful effects of water veins are formed cannot be ascertained accurately. There are only models that offer an explanation.

One common and obvious explanation is that the flowing motion causes friction with the layers of rock, which produce electric fields specially when under high, underground pressure. These electric fields cause interference with the natural magnetic field of the Earth and produce “turbulence” whose radiation fields expand beyond the surface of the Earth.

Another explanation is that ions are released, due to the high pressure of the underground flowing water, sending them directly upward. They are highly energizing and even a small dose has a strong and invigorating effect. Water veins are located at different depths (between 15 – 1000 meters) under the ground. Their effect depends on the size and distance from the Earth’s surface and varies depending on if you are on the ground floor, where the influence is lower than on higher floors.

How come water veins can cross each other?

Our normal understanding of water veins is that when they meet they run into each other and then continue to flow as a broader stream. So how can they intersect without joining? The answer is obvious when you consider that more often than not there are several rock layers in any given place. Now you have to know that water veins can still show their effect on the surface even if they are up to 1000 meters under the surface. The difference in depth allows water veins to crisscross, and depending on the inclination of the rock layer can flow in different or opposite directions and therefore – as seen from above – would look like a cross, that is if you could see through the stones.

As the intersecting water veins have an effect on the Earth’s surface, their effect at the intersection is significantly increased and can accelerate the progression of disease.
