Takes credit for transforming Hyderabad into a global city

Hyderabad: Taking strong exception to the comments made by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had no reason to campaign here and that he had a handful of problems to be resolved in Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said he had 35 years of association with Hyderabad and was responsible to transform Hyderabad into a global city.

Accusing the TRS of encouraging defections, he said it was unfortunate that some leaders who had won as MLAs on TDP tickets had joined the pink party even without showing the basic decency of resigning from the Legislative Assembly and had become Ministers and were now making all kinds of comments against the TDP.

This, he said, was an unconstitutional act and asked the people what punishment should be meted out to them and added that the time had come to teach a lesson to such people by defeating the TRS and voting in favour of the TDP-BJP combine. He said the TDP was a national party and had strong leadership in Telangana.

He said it would continue to strive for the welfare of people and there was no question of going anywhere. The TDP, he said, was the only party with a genuine strong cadre and would always stand by the poor people.

Addressing a meeting at Pattigadda, he reiterated that Hyderabad city was developed during his regime. He said there was a time when not a single international flight used to come to Hyderabad. It was his efforts which had brought the international airport where flights from across the globe fly in and out.

Similarly, before the TDP came to power here, there were only a few hospitals and colleges. It was the TDP government, which constructed flyovers, he said. He said Hyderabad had become the IT hub because of his efforts and the TDP government had created employment to one lakh youth in the software sector.

The Congress ruined Hyderabad for ten long years and the TRS government had not taken up any developmental works o far, he added. Besides Dattatreya, TDP leaders L Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Revanth Reddy and others also participated in the election meetings.
