Speaking at the award function, Dr Kamineni Pattabhiramaiah said that it was a great privilege for the Kala Samithi to present the award to an eminent educationalist who was striving for empowerment of women.

Responding to the felicitation, Koteswaramma said that she chose the teaching profession to promote education and for women’s empowerment. She explained how she faced challenges in developing the Montessori Educational Institutions as one of the premier institutions in the State. She thanked all those who extended help to her in the endeavour to develop the educational institution founded by her.

Kalavarshini of Hyderabad staged a comedy play `Manishi Manchode’ on the occasion. The play was written by K Subbarao and was directed by J Hari Babu. The play was well received by the gathering. Madugula Rama Krishna compered the programme.

C Raghavachari, veteran journalist, Prof G Krupachari, vice-chancellor of Dalit University, Phirangipuram, Dr Rejeena, Andhra Nataka Kala Samithi founder Karnati Lakshminarasayya, Nannapaneni Nageswara Rao and others were present at the felicitation function.
