A Journey of Peace: Sri Sri’s ‘Anugraha Yatra’. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, humanitarian and founder of the Art of Living, would embark upon a unique ‘Journey of Peace’ in Andhra Pradesh in February.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, humanitarian and founder of the Art of Living, would embark upon a unique ‘Journey of Peace’ in Andhra Pradesh in February. Titled ‘Anugraha Yatra’, this tour incorporates travel by a special train christened ‘Sri Sri Express’ to different places over 5 days from February 15 to19, across the districts of Rangareddy, Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittoor, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna as well as west and east Godavari. Over 1000 people from across India and other countries would accompany him on this tour.

While Sri Sri’s aim is to motivate people to view nation-building as their responsibility and engage in such transformative action with enthusiasm and energy, the specific themes of this tour include:
I Vote for a Better India (Voter awareness drive), an initiative to inspire all citizens to get a voter ID and participate in the democratic process.
Save the Girl Child, a nationwide effort with UNICEF to inspire people across all walks to life to take a pledge to protect the girl child.
Plant-a-Tree, a simple effort which if taken up by enough people can significantly improve the environment.
Highlights of the tour
The ‘Anugraha Yatra’ would be flagged off from Kacheguda station at 7.15 am on November 15. The train would arrive at Kurnool by noon, where some of his devotees would meet Sri Sri. After a few minutes, they would leave for Yerraguntla with a scheduled arrival at 4.30 pm. Sri Sri would then visit Proddatur for a couple of hours, before recommencing his journey at 10pm. The train would arrive at Renigunta the next morning. The group would then visit Tirupati. The journey would continue towards Mangalagiri on 17th at 8.30am, where Sri Sri is scheduled to halt at the Highland Resorts for the night. On the last leg of the journey, he would travel to Kakinada, from where he would embark again at 9pm on the 18th to arrive in Hyderabad the next morning. Sri Sri would address public gatherings during the evenings, during which he would conduct a live meditation, followed by music and insights from the spiritual guru.
