Karimnagar: Finance minister Eetala Rajender said that Vemulawada temple, considered as South Kashi, would be developed on all fronts. In this regard, a comprehensive plan was being prepared by the officials concerned, he informed. Addressing the public meeting after inaugurating LMD-Vemulawada drinking water scheme taken up with Rs 13 crore, at Vemulawada village panchayat on Saturday, the minister said for the first time in the history Telangana government made budgetary allocations for the development of the temples.

About Rs 200 crore budget was earmarked for the expansion of Yadagiri Narasimhaswamy temple, he said. Stating that Telangana Rashtra Samithi government was working with a great responsibility, he said state government was committed to fulfill all the promises made to the public before elections. Referring to Vemulawada drinking water scheme which has been pending since ten years, the minister said it was the Telangana government which completed the scheme within ten months after coming to power.


Earlier, there was no power supply in the villages during the summer but the TRS government managed to overcome power crisis within 10 months period, he said. Speaking about RTC employees strike, the minister said the government would take measures to enhance the salaries of the corporation workers. Listing out various welfare schemes introduced by the state government, he said pension amount has been enhanced to Rs 1000 from Rs 200 and about 4,000 Beedi workers have also been given Rs 1000 pension.
