City rescues this liar

When standup comedian turned actor Vir Das was in the city as part of his ‘Unbelievablish tour - True words from the mouth of a liar’, little did he know that he would be encountered by something unbelievable. Apparently while the actor was performing at Shilpa Kala Vedika, power went off and Vir was put in a rather embarrassing situation.

This was something the ‘liar’ was completely unprepared for but the cordial Hyderabadi audience did not let their favourite stand-up comedian remain in dark and came to his rescue. While the management of the auditorium was doing everything they could to fix the issue, audience who were engrossed in the show started using their cell phone torches to light up the auditorium and voila… the show went on.

A visibly relieved and happy Vir took to his Twitter handle and shared the news on Sunday morning, “When you're in the middle of a good joke, and the lights go out, a groovy Hyderabad audience comes to the rescue :-)” the actor wrote. “We still don’t know if what happened was an accident or was intentional, for the event is all about him being a ‘liar,’ but yeah, power did went off and we started pointing the torch light of our phones,” said Pranay Pratap, who was among the audience.

‘Unbelievablish…’ is an exclusive show written and performed by Vir Das where he narrates stories from his life. However, they may or may not be true. The best part of the whole show is that if you guess the true/false sequence of his stories then you get a refund of your ticket. Unbelievable? But that’s the truth.
