Uma Ramani, DGM Vigilance Cell, SBI, LHO, attended the function and appreciated the efforts of Team Sharada Cultural Trust for their committed cultural service for the last 25 years. Visakha Hari is a prominent Carnatic music vocalist and established exponent of Harikatha Kathakalakshepam. Trained under the legendary violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman, she delivers discourses in Tamil, English and Hindi citing lyrics of the musical trinity too besides touching some Tamil lyrics.
Her format of Kathakalakshepam goes with slokas, Trinity krithis besides story narration, a special attribute devised by Visakha. She is proficient in 65 Harikathas. She gave a musical discourse on ‘Subrahmanya Vaibhavam’ (27th) and ‘Sundara Kanda’ (28th) much to the enlightenment of deep devoted audience.
B Anantha Krishna supported her on voilin while SJ Arjun Ganesh played the Mridangam. Her Katha Kalaskshepam was more of a concert than religious discourse. Lahari’s Carnatic vocal was chaste and rich in taste that touched the hearts of connoisseurs. Equally the support offered by instrumental musicians Mallela Tajaswy on violin and Marthanda Pervali on mridangam was scintillating.
Lahari started her recital with Saraswathi Vidyardhi’s (mother) work. Detailing krithi of Saint Thyagaraja ‘Brova Bharamaa’ (Bahudari) with sumptuous ragalapana, Lahari dealt the Pallavi and Anupallavi charanams with all lyrical taste. She gave a majestic ragalapana in all three scales much to the merriment of the listeners with par excellence.
Lahari showcased her proven manodharma trait and swarakalpana in all the three octaves which was a child’s play to her. Tani-avarthanam by Jaya Bhaskar was a showpiece while young violinist Tejaswy showed his maturity in handling the bow with ease.
