Skill development progerammes for students in ANU. These international firms would need a host of young, talented, technically skilled and technologically well versed Software and Hardware technocrats to work for the Japanese and Singaporean firms.

Acharya Nagarjuna University(ANU) is taking the initiative to host several skill development and personnel training programmes in partnership with Gujarat Energy Research Mission of India(GERMI) and also with Japanese Consultancy Firms to make ready skilled personnel for catering to scores of Singapore and Malaysian companies which will establish their firms in 10,000 acres of land in the core capital region.

These international firms would need a host of young, talented, technically skilled and technologically well versed Software and Hardware technocrats to work for the Japanese and Singaporean firms. Besides the firms are willing to hire qualified Indian youth having atleast a working knowledge of Japanese language.

For this cause the ANU is taking the lead to train students and youth in Japanese language and also train them through skills up-gradation. Skill development, teaching Japanese language and also training people in tapping solar energy by training candidates as consultants who can help solar promoters in aetting up of solar energy plants.

These three modes of training are three different courses designed for three different mandates. ANU vice-chancellor K.R.S.Sambasiva Rao speaking to 'The Hans India' said that the university has designed 17 courses that help in multiple skills development in league with Don Bosco Technical School in Guntur.

600 applications already have been received for training in various courses and for each course, 10 to 20 candidates would be considered. Similarly for the Japanese Language Institute being hosted by the university, the university is hiring Japanese Language Teachers from within the country. The ANU held discussions with Japanese Ambassador to India in this regard.

He spoke of practical difficulties to send Japanese Teachers citing immigration laws but promised to organise on-line Japanese Language Teaching using the latest technology wherein Japanese teachers can take on-line classes from far beyond the Indian shores.

Another prestigious project of ANU is in partnership with GERMI, an institute based in Gujarat which offers training on setting up of solar power plants for those planning to set up small, medium and massive solar power generation plants in the country. Those who get training in ANU can play the role of consultants by offering technical know-how.

The ANU vice-chancellor revealed that 200 Singapore and Japanese firms would set up their industrial ventures in the capital region and will be generating 5 lakh jobs in the next 3-4 years. It is to cater trained and skilled man power to these companies, the ANU is working with state government to train personnel and teach Japanese language to the stake holders.
