Tips for freshening up your home interior—without breaking the bank

• Keep wall colors light and neutral - Stick to colors like beige or gray, especially on the first floor, where flow is important.
• Layer your lighting - Every room should have three kinds of lighting: ambient, which provides overall illumination and often comes from ceiling fixtures; task, which is often found over a kitchen island or a reading nook; and accent, which is more decorative, highlighting.
• Use fabrics for inspiration - Use them to brighten up your living room. From cushions to pillows to rugs and mixing colour palettes and patterns as well as using fabrics are centrepieces – be open to experimenting. These variations can offer texture to your home.
• Accessories – Look into your packed boxes for inspiration. Take out all the accessories that you have collected over time. If you have old plates of various sizes, shapes and colours, hang them on the wall to create wonderful wall art.
• Introduce your rooms to greens – Place a vase with fresh flowers, place potted plants in corners, hang them on the walls – plants lend brightness to your room with their bright colour while also helping purify air in your home.
