Weaves of distress

Even as ‘Make in India’ is the national buzzword and a fairytale living of the handloom industry is projected, the ground reality is that weavers seem to be a neglected community. They are deprived of basic earnings despite their dexterity.

The promised policy aimed at improving their lot has not materialised even after a year of the TS government’s announcement.
