Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair presented over 100 brands at HICC, Novotel Hyderabad, Hitec city, which was inaugurated by Chief Guest Bonthu Ram Mohan and Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of UBM India on Saturday June 4 and 5. The exhibition showcased a variety of jewellery in diamonds, pearls, gemstones, studded jewellery; exquisite south Indian gold jewellary including Victorian, Nizam, Chokars, Nakshi and antique jewellery.
Among the unique pieces on exhibit were machine-made bangles and gold chokers. The chokers are designed as crown shaped necklace in 22 carat gold that comes with antique long haram adorned with moissanites and pearls. These Gold chokers are designed for Indian bride. The chokers have sparkling kemp stones and golden balls fixed in it, which looks very classy. The range of chokers crown necklace begins at 2.5 lakh and goes up to 5 lakh.
The other latest designs are found in Nakshi gold jewellery, also known as temple jewellery. These necklaces are fixed with 22 carat gold haram made of antique nakshi balls featuring temple pendants embossed with Lord Shiva, Gauri, Laxmi and Sarswati. The necklaces are adorned with kundans and emerald beads.
This type of jewellery is becoming increasingly popular in south Indian weddings and also spreading to North of India. The jewellery also features a vaddanam, which the south Indian wears - a 22k gold waist belt with Goddess design all over around it and decorated with gemstones. This is the evergreen vaddanam for those who like temple jewellery and there is a golden plait to go along with it. The jewellery starts is available from Rupees 2 lakh onwards.
