For those of you living in a reality far away from gizmos, gadgets and games, you’re probably unaware of this, but the newly-launched famous Augmented Reality (AR) game ‘Pokémon Go’ has overtaken Twitter in terms of daily users and has seen people spending more time on its app than on Facebook.
Nintendo’s popular AR mobile game requires players to use their smartphones to capture digital monsters in the real world — and it’s been causing some real-world havoc across the world.
This isn’t the first time a game has made players crazy. In 2013, the “What’s your level” ‘Candy Crush Saga’ swept across the world and the “sweet-nothing” is still quite popular with many. Similarly, the mean-faced ‘Angry Birds’ unnaturally brought smiles to players making the tiny birds hop.
Of course, games have the potential to be phenomenally viral. The never-ending levels, simple scoring mechanisms supported by super fast internet connections augment their addiction to heights that the world now calls ‘viral’.
Here’s a list of 10 most viral mobile games that changed our lives.
Pokemon Go
The latest research by SurveyMonkey claimed that the app has already become the biggest mobile game in US history when it comes to daily active users. The mobile game by Nintendo was officially released in US, Australia and New Zealand and later in UK and Germany and is now viral worldwide, thanks to the fake apple ids and APK files and some other tricks.
Flappy Bird
Made by Vietnam-based developer in 2013, it became one of the most addictive games but it was removed from the app store and Google Play by its creator Dong Nguyen on February 10, 2014 due to his guilt over what he considered to be its addictive nature and overuse.
Angry Birds
Initially released in December 2009 for Apple iOS had 12 million copies of the game purchased from App store by October 2010. As of July 2015, the series’ games had been downloaded more than three billion times collectively, making it the most downloaded freemium game series of all time.
Tap the frog
You need to cross different levels in the speed-testing skill game to turn the frog into a ‘Frog prince.’ Originally released in 2011 for iOS as Tap the Frog it was renamed as Tap The Frog: Doodle in November 2012.
Subway Surfer
You have to escape from a railway inspector angry with you for spraying graffiti over the station. The game is still a craze among many wherein the app keeps updating with new stations or cities it tours in such as Venice, Tokyo, Las Vegas and many more.
Clash of Clans
From rage-filled Barbarians with glorious mustaches to pyromaniac wizards – the game, released in 2012, fulfilled gruelling fantasies of people who could harmlessly raise their own army and lead a clan to victory. In 2015, the game was the top grossing app on both App Store and Google Play, with an estimated revenue of 1.5 $ per day.
Dumb ways to die
A game based on the Australian public service announcement campaign has 15 mini games where you attempt to collect all the dumb characters for your train station, achieve high scores and unlock the famous music video that started it all.
Candy Crush Saga
With its release in April 2012 ‘Candy Crush Saga’ had over ten million downloads by December that year. Also, two years later the players spent over $1.33 billion on in-app purchases which was a decline from the previous year.
2048
The single-player sliding block puzzle game was released on March 9, 2014. The player is kind of challenged to add in the similar numbers and make a sum of 2048 that made them accept it and download the game on their own devices.
Temple Run
