The spacious apron of the Prakasam Barrage was finally open to the pilgrims visiting the Krishna Pushkaralu. Clubbed with food courts around, the cultural programmes on apron in the downstream of the barrage was a special attraction for the pilgrims and localites.

Pilgrims and the general public were allowed to walk on the apron in the early night with artists drawn from the Telugu film and television industry performing for three hours continuously.

As the water discharge into the sea is negligible, the apron was found to be the best site to entertain the pilgrims. People gathered in large numbers to watch the beauty of the historical Prakasam Barrage, the illuminated ghats on one side and the colourful cultural shows on the other.

Popular singers Baba Sehgal, Sri Krishna and Geetha Madhuri, presented the best songs from the silver screens. Anchors Sri Mukhi and Ravi who conducted the shows also joined the team of dancers adding more glamour to the evening.The small skits presented by the popular television show, Jabardasth team led by Venki, were the special attraction in the night.
