Sadasivpet: Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Prof. M Kodandaram on Tuesday demanded an inquiry by the government into the alleged negligence of the Irrigation department officials in releasing the Manjira water without estimating its flood impact.

Speaking to newsmen after touring the rain-affected crops in Pottipalli and Etigaddasangham villages in this mandal and consoling the farmers, Prof Kodandaram said crops like pulses, cotton and maize in 600 acres have been damaged in the recent heavy floods. “This has caused deep anxiety among the farmers who have also been denied the input subsidy”, he pointed out.
