Sanction Mudra loans to farmers, in time: Collector to bankers
Nizamabad: District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana urged bankers to sanction the Sishu, Kishore and Tarun loans under the Pradhana Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) Loan Scheme or the Mudra Loan Scheme on time without any delay.
Participating in the District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan in the town on Wednesday, she said that loans under Kishore and Tarun schemes should be sanctioned to those who repay and clear the Sishu loans on time.
The District Collector said that for those who repay the loans on crop at one go, the bankers should reduce the rates of interests according to norms stipulated by the banks.
She said that the loans should be sanctioned to farmers who come to the banks only after examining the signatures of Tahsildars on their Pahani passbooks and affixing their signatures on the hard copies.
The District Collector said that with the reorganisation of the districts, the State government passed orders under which each Collector should take measures to improve the living conditions of four to five lakh families in each district.
In this connection, she also urged the bankers to contribute their mite in the growth and development of the districts.
Collector Rana said that for the Scheduled Castes, under the Financial (Economic) Support System, the Government would provide 80 per cent of subsidy and the remaining 20 percent has to be provided by the banks.
It was not proper on the part of the bankers to provide only 10 percent subsidy though they had to pay 20 per cent, she added.
The District Collector said that the Nizamabad district received bountiful rains during this season and all the reservoirs and tanks were filled to the brim and the ground water resources have also improved a lot.
As such, the banks should come forward to provide loans to the farmers to irrigate their Rabi crop, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Director of Horticulture Bharat said that a linkage should be established with the banks to provide subsidy to the farmers belonging to the Scheduled Castes for setting up dairy farms. Responding to this suggestion, the Collector asked them to send proposals.
The Collector said that officials of all the departments and bankers should attend a meeting on October 31 with full details without fail.
RBI K Balasubrahmanyam, LDA Suresh Reddy, Assistant General Manager of NABARD Ramesh and others were present.
