Bodhan (Nizamabad): Bodhan MLA Mohammad Shakeel held a review meeting with various government officials at the mandal parishad hall in the town on Tuesday.

Participating in the meeting, he told the officials that they should work hard in implementing the social welfare programmes taken up by the State government.

He said that they should be available to the public. The MLA said that the remaining cheques of the Kalyan Lakshmi scheme would be distributed to the beneficiaries soon.

He scolded a divisional engineer of the Lift Irrigation Department for laughing at farmers who came to explain their problems.

He lashed out at the officials of Panchayat Raj department for their laxity in completing the pending works even after six months though they should have been completed within three months.

The MLA told the officials of Roads & Buildings department that they should complete the works from Nizamabad to Bodhan.

He inquired from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) officials about the problems that they were facing towards supplying nutritious food and milk to infants.

He released some funds from the MLA fund for the construction of buildings in Bodhan town and said that anganwadi workers in 29 municipal wards would be removed soon.

The MLA said that the officer of the Horticulture Department would also be placed under suspension for unauthorised absence.

MPP Ganga Shankar, Municipal Commissioner Swamy Naik, Tahsildar Vinod Kumar, MEO Shankar and others were present.
