Expressing solidarity with the poor

Members of the Human Right Welfare Association observed a token hunger strike for the poor at Dharna Chowk in Indira Park recently.

They were protesting against the hardships caused to the lesser privileged due to the recent demonitisation move by the Prime Minister.

This included General Secretary Parvez along with Vice-Chairman Riyaz and joint secretary Faiyaz Gazi who voiced, “Due to financial crises daily wage earners are not getting any employment and the people who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) are suffering in huge numbers.”

"We demand for supply of food, milk and medicines free of cost to the poor living Below Poverty Line by the government till the process of exchange of currency notes concludes and money withdrawal capacity is lifted,” said the members.
