Sircilla: The special officers appointed for the mandals were directed to visit their respective mandals to take necessary steps for pushing cashless transactions. District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar held a meeting with special officers at Podupu Bhavan here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the special officers must create awareness among the people about cashless transactions by visiting every village and mandal and encourage the villagers to open bank accounts.

He suggested the officials to work with commitment along with improving their working skills. Expressing discontent on officials, who did not send daily reports, Krishna Bhaskar ordered them to send the reports immediately.

Siddipet District Panchayat Officer Suresh Babu explained the officials how 100 per cent cashless transactions was achieved in Ibrahimpur village in the district.

A village-level officer for every 150 members in a village, a mandal-level officer for three to four villages forming as a cluster and a district officer/ nodal officer for every mandal were appointed.

These officials will identify people without bank accounts and make them to open one and issue debit cards.
They also establish micro ATMs for traders to carry out cashless transactions in Ibrahimpur.
