Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to take necessary steps to transform the Khammam city into 100 per cent digital for carrying out cashless transactions here in a meeting held at Pragna Conference Hall in Collectorate in Khammam on Thursday.

Addressing the officials, the District Collector said officials must take proper steps for carrying out 100 per cent cashless transactions in all business establishments in Khammam city and also in Sattupalli and Madira panchayats.

For this purpose, the officials of 10 various departments were handed over five divisions each of the total 50 divisions in the city and asked them to identify all the shops in the respective divisions for carrying out cashless transactions.

Awareness programmes must be organised for all the traders along with the owners of retail shops about how the cashless transactions to be carried out through MSSD system, Aadhaar-enabled payment and UPI system along with e-wallet (Digital purse), ordered the Collector.

“By taking the help of college students and Self Help Groups, identify every small shop present in the divisions and motivate owners to encourage customers towards cashless transactions,” advised the Collector.

District Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Chief Planning Officer Z Ramdas, ZP Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, District Panchayat Officer Srinivas Reddy, Project Director of DRDA Muralidar Rao, District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao, District Employment Officer V Vijetha, Khammam Rural Development Officer Purnachandra, Hortliculture Officer R Srinivas Rao and District Marketing Officer P Prasad Rao were present along with others.
