Khammam: Communist Party of India (CPI) district council secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao has said their party would hit back to prominence despite the setbacks it received in last
few years.

Addressing a party meeting here on Sunday, he said efforts were on to organise the party’s 91st Formation Day on a grand note on Monday.

“Party’s representation in the Legislative houses at the Centre and State may have gone down, but the spirit is still there to fight against the anti-people policies of ruling parties,” Rao said.

He said CPI would hit back to its erstwhile fame by building people-based movements and exposing the misdeeds of the Centre and State governments. He called upon cadres to make the party Formation Daya huge success.

Meanwhile, senior CPI leader and former legislator Puvvada Nageswara Rao, speaking at the Atmeeya Sammelanam programme organised by the Corporator BG Clement as part of Christmas celebrations, said compassion was the pillar of world peace.

Local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar also took part in the programme.
