Jainath: In connection with the death of a Congress worker Tirupati in Lakshmiplur village, the police on Sunday registered a case against Minister for Forests Jogu Ramanna’s son Premender and six others, Adilabad DSP Lakshmi Narayana said. Unable to bear with the harassment meted out to him allegedly at the hands of the ruling party, the Congress activist, Tirupati, committed suicide by consuming poison and his body was found near Satnala Canal D5.

The deceased’s relatives suspected foul play in the death of Tirupati and suspected it to be a case of murder but not suicide. They blamed the police accusing them of foisting false cases against Tirupati at the behest of the ruling party. They demanded the suspension of Sub-Inspector of Police Pullayya who foisted false cases against Tirupati.

The irate relatives did not allow the post-mortem and staged a stir near the RIMS and sought registering cases against the minister’s son and eight others in the case. Former Congress leader Ramachandra Reddy joined the agitating relatives near the RIMS and accused the ruling TRS for the murder. He sought registering of cases against the alleged killers of Tirupati and action against the Sub-Inspector of Police.
